As someone who doesn’t have much connection to her Chinese heritage, food is one of the main ways I’m able to recognize my ancestry. At the same time, as an animal lover I try to adopt a plant-based diet when possible. These pieces reflect my Cantonese heritage as well as my struggle with consuming animal products.
